Blogging in the classroom

I just watched a PBS special about students blogging in China. This is a new concept to me. They had students as early as kindergarten posting. It was a very interesting special on technology. They had discussed having posters all over the school about internet safety. Does anyone have these in their school?

  1. Our school does not have internet safety posters, but we have posters for everything else. Come to think of it, it might not be a bad assignment for my middle school students to create some.

  2. It would be neat to create some after a lesson on internet safety using Wordle. It is my new found program. It is SOOOO much fun! I know that we have two classes blogging at our school right now I have not paid that much attention to it because I have been so busy with other things.

  3. We have internet safety posters up in the lab and in some classrooms. At the beginning of the school year I reintroduce the students to the concept of internet safety and try to reinforce in throughout the year. Netsmartz has a whole bunch of resources including posters that you can download and use in the classroom. Check it out....http://www.netsmartz.org/educators.htm

  4. We don't have any Internet Safety posters, but my TRT and I always do lessons on it. That's a great idea!
Thanks Colleen for the link :)

  5. I see many benefits to my students using blogs as a book club. What a great way to get students to discuss the books they are currently reading. I think this could really help my students who take over to just state what they have to say while giving others who are shy a chance to speak. Also it would help them work on their writing skills.
